This privacy policy describes how the Dummy Data app (“we”, “our app”) handles information when you use the app on your Shopify store. We aim to be clear and minimal in what we collect and why.
To provide the app’s features (generating sample products, customers, collections, and draft orders in your store), we use:
We do not sell your data. We use it only to run the app and to comply with law.
The app creates dummy data (products, customers, collections, draft orders) inside your Shopify store at your request. That data is stored in your store and managed by you. We may keep a minimal record that an import occurred (e.g. type and count) for the app’s own operation; we do not store the actual content of the generated data on our servers beyond what Shopify holds for your store.
We retain session and import records only as needed to operate the app. When you uninstall the app or request data deletion (e.g. via Shopify’s data subject requests or shop redaction), we delete the data we hold for your shop in line with Shopify’s requirements and our own policies.
The app runs on Shopify’s platform and uses Shopify’s APIs. How Shopify handles data is covered by Shopify’s privacy policy. We do not share your information with other third parties for their marketing or other purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. You can uninstall the app at any time from your Shopify admin. For data we hold, you can contact us (see below) to exercise your rights. We also respond to Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks (e.g. customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) as required.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
For privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at the support email or developer details listed in the app’s Shopify App Store listing.
